Wide expanses of uninhabited islands contribute to the authentic Scottish atmosphere found with a holiday cottage in Argyll and Bute. Spot sea eagles, sample malt whiskeys and visit the castle abodes of famous Scotch clansmen.
Fabulous location for winter retreat in cosy and beautiful cabin. Easy to train in and out (just 2 mins walk from station). Fabulous food and service from Ben Cruachan Inn and just enough kitchen facilities in the cabin to rustle up a two pot feast meal after long hiking days. Good access to walk into at least two decent hill walks (both routes include about 1km along pavement on A85). If using public transport to get in/out and want to cook own food rather than using the Inn for all meals, carry in all the food you need for the trip, Loch Awe Stores good for milk but not much else. Generally the cabin had everything we needed and we felt it was finished to an excellent standard but due a visit from electrician, some usb charging ports didn't work and the two main hanging lights didn't work making it quite dark.
