Travelling in Cuba with Kids

Cuba’s capital city, Havana is a city that oozes culture and history. To view some interesting Spanish colonial architecture, visit the Castillo de la Real Fuerza, an aquatic museum and fort. In La Habana Vieja, the Catedral de San Cristóbal, a classic cathedral is one of the attractions to visit for its asymmetrical towers and its impressive collection of art and antiquities. The El Callejon de Hamel, an Afro-Cuban hub, offers insight into local culture through sculpture and visual art.

Trinidad is a historical UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Plaza Mayor (Trinidad's town centre) preserves beautiful historic buildings that date back to the 18th century, offering some insight into the history of Trinidad. 12km to the south is Playa Ancón, a stretch of unspoiled beach ideal for a refreshing swim, and 18km to the north are the Escambray Mountains, which provide lush walking trails featuring waterfalls.

Varadero is notable for its glistering blue waters and white sandy beach. As one of the largest resorts in the Caribbean, it has many family-friendly hotels, hiking trails and shops. Delfinario, the dolphin center, offers dolphin shows as well as the opportunity to swim with the dolphins.
