Kawartha Country Wines produces 45 different types of grape and fruit wines. They also make a selection of grilling sauces, gourmet vinegars, and preserves. Head to the tasting counter to discover your favorite wines and pick up a few bottles to enjoy on the deck of your rental cottage.

Kawartha Settlers Village on Dunn Street is also well worth a visit. This collection of twenty buildings were brought from the surrounding area to this site and are lovingly preserved. The buildings include the original Murphy Farmhouse, Fairbairn Church, The General Store, schoolhouse, and homes from the village. Over 1000 artifacts from the pioneer era are displayed at the village. Watch demonstrations of pioneer life and take part in crafts classes.

Spend a day at the Bobcaygeon Fall Fair or the Bobcaygeon Beer Festival

The Bobcaygeon Fall Fair is held in late September every year and is a typical country fair, with events like the horse pull, tractor pull, dog shows, sheep shows, and horse jumping shows. There are plenty of delicious country foods to buy directly from farmers too, as well as traditional fairground rides and rides for small children. A dance is held on the Saturday night while there are also exciting performances by musicians and magicians.

In August, you can attend the Bobcaygeon Beer Festival which features 10 craft breweries and 2 cideries showing off the best of their range. Have fun tasting the different varieties of beers before purchasing a few bottles to take home as a souvenir. You can also look forward to live entertainment, food vendors, and items for sale from local artists, but note that you do need to be 21 years old to attend this event.
