Canmore Activities: Gondola Rides and Cave Spelunking

Head to Sulphur Mountain for a fun day out for the whole family. Spend the morning bathing in the hot springs at the base of the mountain before taking a gondola ride to the summit. Each glass-enclosed gondola seats four people and the views of the surrounding countryside is spectacular. At the summit, you will find two restaurants and a gift shop. There are boardwalk trails leading across the summit to allow you to take in the views from every direction.

The Canmore Caves offer two guided tours, the shortest is four hours in length and the second takes six hours. Explore the longest cave system in Canada in Grotto Mountain - you will see the Rats Nest Cave that features ancient fossils and examples of stalagmites and stalactites. Avoid this tour if you have a fear of confined spaces and rather take the above-ground Discovery Tour. The tours are only recommended for children over the age of 12 due to the physical nature of the adventure.

Canmore Food Events & Festivals

Canmore Uncorked is held in April every year and is a celebration of the delicious food and wine that is produced in the area. The Festival runs over two weeks and during that time you get to taste the best of local cuisine as the chefs try to outdo each other with truly amazing taste combinations. The chefs choose wines to compliment the food you are trying.

Bragg Creek Days is held in July and celebrates everything that you can do in summer in Canmore. The main event is a parade on a Saturday morning but there are a number of other fun activities throughout the weekend such as a market square, food vendors, a beer tent, dunk tanks, activities for children, and live musical entertainment.
