A Wealth of Festivals on Cortes Island

Don't miss the Cortes Island Seafest, which takes place in May at the Gorge Harbour Marina. Enjoy delicious barbecue, clams, mussels, raw oysters, and more while listening to live music. Local crafts are also available for sale during the festival. During the Cortes Island Fire/Rescue Pancake Breakfast, support the island's firefighters while enjoying pancakes and other breakfast favourites.

At Smelt Bay Provincial Park, take part in the Cortes Day celebrations, held during the third Sunday of July. This is an annual celebration of island life and culture. The day starts with breakfast, followed by a parade and lots of activities for kids and adults throughout the day, including the cake walk and chicken run.
