Historically known for its clubs, cabarets, and prostitution, the strip and its surrounding streets are now known for the many bars, late-night discos, and theatre venues. Alternatively, high-profile musicals such as Tarzan and The Lion King often run at large-scale venues across the city.

Beyond Hamburg

If visiting in the summer months, it's common to take a trip to either the Baltic Sea or the North Sea – both can be reached by car or public transportation in under an hour from your Hamburg holiday letting. Lübeck, a lovely city on the Baltic Sea, is famed for its medieval architecture and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Heligoland is a stunning North Sea island that can be reached by boat service from Hamburg.
