Booking a vacation rental in Huron lets you have the freedom to choose between dining in or going out for dinner. Lake Erie offers amazing local seafood, especially steelhead, salmon, trout, smelt, and walleye. If you're not up for cooking your catch at home, try it at one of the waterfront restaurants around the harbour, Main Street, and Williams Street.

Nickel Plate Beach, less than 2km from Huron Harbor and the town centre, offers 12 acres of sandy beach for safe swimming, along with picnic facilities, volleyball courts, and a children's playground. Not far away from there, Old Woman Creek State Nature Preserve is a protected wetlands area, with plenty of birds and local wildlife to see on a gentle forest walk.

Historic Cedar Point Amusement Park is only a short drive away from your Huron cottage rental. The second-oldest surviving amusement park in the USA, Cedar Point was responsible for giving Lake Erie's South Shore the nickname 'Roller Coaster Capital of the World.' In addition to roller coasters, there are water slides and other thrill-seeking rides for all ages.

Boating and Golfing Close at Hand

Just a stone's throw from Huron City Hall on Main Street, Huron Yacht Club is a historic establishment with great food and impressive views, as well as sailing lessons and boat tours. You can also charter a boat from Harbor North for a day out fishing, sightseeing, or just cruising on the lake. The Huron Boat Basin & Amphitheater also hosts outdoor concerts in summer.

There are several quality golf courses within a short drive from the centre of Huron. Most popular with locals is Thunderbird Golf Course, just over State Route 2 from Huron. This is a beginner-friendly course featuring wide, flat fairways lined with lush trees. For a more exclusive experience, play a round at Sawmill Creek Golf Club, a quaint country club with vintage buildings and a challenging, well-maintained course.
