Krakow, Poland's second biggest city, is awash with historical buildings at every turn. Some of the most impressive structures, which are itinerary musts, are St Mary's Basicila, Wawel Cathedral, and Cloth Hall - a town hall home to a pretty Polish art museum. The National Museum in Krakow is also worth a visit for those interested in a comprehensive overview of the country. A visit to Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory is also a moving but incredibly worthy half day experience.

What to do when the sun goes down in Poland

All small towns and villages in Poland have a collection of bars and restaurants, and the larger cities have even more options for evening activities. Located just behind the south side of Nowy Świat in Warsaw (accessed via the alleyways) is a collection of local style bars reminiscent of times gone by. The city also has several theaters, the most impressive being the National Museum and Teatr Wielki - both of which showcase a variety of productions. Ballet is a great option for non-native speakers, and operas are often surtitled in both Polish and English.
