Hikers interested in enchanted-looking forests and landscapes can head to the Lower Mount Revelstoke Area of the national park which includes trails through the Giant Cedars Boardwalk forest with impressive old cedar trees and a well-maintained boardwalk. You can also walk to the Nels Nelsen ski jump for insight into the town’s skiing history, a 40-minute walk from the Nels Nelsen parking lot.

For more of a challenge and some elevation head to the Summit Trail which takes you from the base to the summit of Mount Revelstoke, giving you stunning views across the Columbia Mountain range through lush forests to the meadows and the alpine lakes. The Eva Lake trail takes hikers up for 2-3 hours from the Meadows in the Sky Parkway to the lake itself where you can follow the path around the lake’s edge and into side-valleys or join the Miller or Jade lakes trails for a longer hike.

Notorious for being some of the country and the continent’s toughest skiing terrain, Revelstoke draws powder lovers from around the world while still maintaining a small-town feel. It’s also renowned for having plenty of snowfall (up to 14 inches at times), as well as North America's highest vertical.
