At Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park your kids can get up close to the animals and maybe feed baby lions, lemurs or tigers. Visit after dark for a night safari.

What to See in Whitby

Camp X Park

During the Second World War, Whitby had a mysterious secret. It was home to Camp X, where secret agents were trained. Not much remains of the camp (now part of Intrepid Park) but you can take walking tours of this atmospheric site and find out how spies were taught.

Port Whitby Marina

Stroll from your Whitby bungalow to Port Whitby Marina and admire the yachts moored there. Walk the Waterfront Trail, stop for a coffee or ice cream or take part in watersports such as sailing, paddle-boarding and kayaking. If you've packed a picnic in your bungalow you could enjoy it in Kiwanis Heydenshore Park.

Heber Down Conservation Area

The Heber Down Conservation Area is a short drive from your Whitby Bungalow. Made up of the Heber Down Wetland Complex and the Glacial Lake Iroquois Beach, this is the perfect place for hiking and cycling.

The Downtown Brooklyn Heritage District

From your home rental bungalow, it's easy to explore the magnificent architecture of the Downtown Brooklyn Heritage District. As well as picturesque buildings, there are plenty of independent shops and places to eat.

Peterborough Lift Lock

Take a drive out from your home rental to the Peterborough Lift Lock. It's a marvel of early 20th-century technology and was the highest hydraulic lift lock in the world. Find out how it's operated (by gravity) in the visitor centre before enjoying a leisurely riverboat ride.
